ok guys I'm in the middle of this TPI swap on a mild 350 and i'm stumped.

Problem I have is, I can get the engine to start but it won't stay running. Will, start, and I have good fuel pressure, but what seems like is when the injector banks fire the fuel pressure drops a lot, like 9-10 lbs or so, you can watch the gauge drop every time it fires. Also it seems like when the banks fire it's loud. I can heard a loud tick noise, is that normal. Well after it fires it will run for 10-15-20 seconds or so then die like lack of fuel.

is this a bin issue? I've got a prominator in there but I just loaded a bin file for test purposes and don't really know much yet about modifying that. any suggestions on what bin I should be running?

 

Make sure you have the correct ECM, and that the injectors are for a 350(meet your fuel requirements), and that you have the correct 350 bin/chip. Is the system from an car that was originally equipped w/ a 350.

 

What IS the actual fuel preasure? I had 22 lb injectors on the 350 running the 305 .bin before. I don't see that being the issue.


Make sure you find out exactley what that tick is .... rockers ? Why the injectors would tick really loud is new to me . But you sure it's not also an exhaust leak?

 

I don't think it's the rockers ticking but it's possible I'm fighting oil leaks on cheap valve covers too so who knows. I don't think it's an exhaust leak but I wouldn't rule that out, the truck has sat for 2 years so anything is possible. The system is from a 305 but I changed the injectors out to the larger injectors.

I don't remember which bin file I have loaded that's why I was asking for file suggestions so I could try a different one.

 

you also need a 350 knock sensor too .
