Which way with injectors

Hi all, just after your thoughts and comments on which way I should go with my injectors.

Story is: I have a 305 TPI Trans Am and the last guy has fitted a Holley Stealth Ram. I have always has a hard time cold starting. Well only until I touch the throttle about a 1/4" then it will fire straight away and idle fine. However if you rev it while cold it will shudder then rev up, this will continue until fully warm. (it does not have a cold start injector.)

I'm self taught so far so I'm not to sure on EFI so I can only go by what I have figured out or what I have been told. TO add Trans Am's are an exotic over here so help is hard to find. One guy suggested that my injectors may be faulty. They are the older style TPI ones and I have heard the latter AC style ones are better. I was also told that the Ford Motorsport number 19 ones are even better again.

What I was thinking about doing is replacing my Injectors. I can get a
(said to be good condition) second hand set of AC ones for about $70US. Sounds cheap but when converted to Aussie money it's about $100. I can get a set of the Ford ones for about $350Aus.

Just wondering does anyone have any thoughts or have any comments on each style of injector or even on my problem.

Thanks heaps.
Francis.

Sorry I forgot to mention that.

I have an 86 305 TPI.

The Second hand Injectors are from an 87 5L GTA.

If still using a MAF setup, you'll need to use '89 programming as that is the only year that used MAF with no CSI. You're not getting the fuel you need at start up without the CSI.

Here is a Memcal for a '89 Camaro w/auto and tpiparts.net.

Or you could get into burning your own chips. I plan to start buying my chip burning/data logging hardware shortly after I start my TPI swap.

The TPIparts.net Memcal will work, but it wont be optimum for your engine.
