iac bypass
heres one for you guys: i never got my car to idle good with the cam and the underdrive pulleys.. . well i was going through the minimum air adjustments and reset the iac and started it with the iac out all the way and unplugged. . car runs at a smooth 800 idle, cold/warm, in gear or not. can i leave it unplugged??? the car runs the same, just idles better. will this affect anything besides gas mileage?? im not worried about the mileage change, but i love the idle it has now haha....thanks

Sure. You can keep it unplugged. Just don't be concerned when you start it cold (when it's cold outside), or turn on the A/C, or the electric fans turn on, or when it afterfires on hot deceleration, or when you're trying to maneuver into a tight parking lot and it stalls, etcetera.
The proper way to increase the RPM is reset the minimum air to factory specs, then program the target idle where you want it.

It's actually fairly easy and inexpensive to burn your own. The editor software is free or at a minimal donation cost for TunerPro. A Pocket Programmer II is reasonably priced at around $180 new, or even less at auction sites like eBay:
