This cam power loss or gain??
I have a brand new cam and lifter set setting in my building. My car is a 87
z28 auto with the 305 tpi engine. The cam is a summit racing 204/214 @
.050 int/exh, .420/.442 lift. It says the rpm range is 1500 - 4000 rpm. Would installing this cam be worth it or would I lose power? Thanks.

not without a tune it won't. and also you need a roller cam, the one you're looking at is probably a flat tappet cam. I have that cam in my carbed 305.

I have the summit TPI cam in mine. Havent had a chance to finish it yet but it will be an improvement from what I had. Yeah you need to make sure that you motor is roller or flat tappet befoer you order a cam for it.
