can i?

i need a little more room under the hood, and was wondering if anyone has removed their evap canister... can i just disconnect it and drop kick it accross the shop??? and will it set the check engine light if i remove it??? any help or idea's would be greatly appreciated...

I'm not certain, but on a '91 ('747 ECM?) you may get an error code. Either way, you're going to have to deal with fuel tank pressure control somehow. You could get a later style EVAP canister from a GM vehicle and mount it under the car (like the later units are).

You should be ok, just buy a vented gas cap. I took mine out of my 87.....yeah I kicked it pretty far! No codes at all. But like Vader said check it out. I'm not sure 100%
