What is wrong?
Here is a video of my car runing to 100. If you notice after shifting into 3rd gear at around 3800 rpm the car feels like it dies then picks right back up pulling. I mean you can feel it you are pressed against the seat then 3800 hits and you arent then a sec later it is pulling again. If you listen you can hear the exhaust change tones right in there. You can even see it on the tack it stops struggles then picks up going again. I dont know what to think. I though it could be trany but just had rebuilt.
Putfile - Run2100 21
file is pretty big might take a while to load.
Thanks for any help. Yeah I know my car is slow but I dont care just want to try and figure out what this is. It is a 89 GTA 350 tpi Auto.
----------
and it only does it when i have it to the floor from a stop. If i punch it at like 20 doesnt do it only does it when i go from a stop hard. and only in 3rd it is weird

I'm not sure, but it seems like it's the torque converter locking up. It's in the calibration to force lockup at 75 MPH.
I haven't been in the states for a few months (took a vacation in February), and hearing that gives me wood.

Yeah that does make sense, I force the convertor to stay locked all the time and see if that fixes it. If that is the problem would I have to do some computer reprogramming to fix it or what??
Thanks

I would force the converter to stay unlocked for that test. Just disconnect the square 4 pin connector at the transmission and give it a blast.
I meant just the sound file and watching the gauges move and stuff. I've been in China for 1.5 years, and only been able to drive my car like twice in that time. Miss it.

yeah I would miss it too. I went 3 weeks not being able to drive was the worst 3 weeks of my life LMAO.
I am going to try that later and see what happens. What is going to happen if I do that anything. Will it hurt my tranny to do that once?

I think those wires only have 2 or 3 pins populated, like 1 for torque converter lockup power, and 1 for a 4th gear switch, and maybe one more (like a ground or something). It shouldn't hurt anything to try it a few times.
