Quick help needed again with MAF sensor.

Why does my scanner read my Maf grams per second in the thousands? As in 1700 g/sec?? I seen all these people saying it tops out at like 255 grams/sec?? Im confused. WHat should my car read at idle, and at WOT??? HELP PLEASE!
