fuel pressure rapid fluxuation

hey guys, ive put an adjustable regulator on my 92 t/a and the fuel pressure rapidly jumps from 42 to 50 with the car running and the vacuum line disconnected. ive installed these regulators on two other tpi cars and have never seen this. would the spring be bad in the regulator? once the cars off the pressure doesnt drop very fast, and the fuel pump is new. i was just gonna replace the spring and put some larger injectors in it, but anyone ever have this problem?? when could i find this spring if that is the case? anyone help would rock, thanks

I had to replace the Gauge on my FPG about 2 months ago because of this reason. After that, works like a champ. It's worth a shot.
