K&N with MAF

is it true that the oil from a K&N air filter will ruin your MAF sensor? ive seen many posts on other places about this, is it true?

Yes many MAF sensors have warning labels on them about the use of oiled air filters. I have used them with MAF systems and the key is to not over oil the filter. Ive never had a problem, It may also depend on how close the filter is in relation to the sensor.

I know that wrongly oiled K&N's can cause your computer to throw a pissy fit and start surging and whatnot. HOnestly, its not worth the 3 hp and 50 bucks for them.

I've never had a problem, but if you do over-oil them, just pull your MAF and blow it out with intake cleaner, or
starting fluid....

i mean since it comes oiled in the box is that ok? my current MAF was shot before i put the 2 K&N's in there anyway, but im gettin a new one, and i want to make sure it will be ok. so basically, its ok unless i over oil it?
