Car died no fuel in cylinder pump runs.

So today I was on my way home when all the sudden my engine died I was in traffic doing 45 I pushed on the brake untill the car got to about 35 and accelerated really fast the pedal wasnt all the way down maybe about 3/4 of the way down and about two seconeds later i hear the engine go dead just dead the rpms didnt gradually drop it just cut out so I coasted to a parking lot checked to see if all the basic stuff was ok it was I checked for a spark it was there got a tow home about half an hour ago and took the fuel line off to see if it was pumping put it in the on position and fuel came pouring now I'm wondering what it could be after this I'm going to check if the injectors are getting power if they are I'm guessing some kind valve I need help bad I have to be at work by 5:30 and I have a hot date tommrow and I dont want go in my VW. a 2.8 TPI?!?! You mean MPI if it's a 6 cylinder. Anyway, yeah, check your injectors for power, and also ohm them. With it suddenly dying like that it could still be an ignition problem. Check your coil, ignition module, etc.
