Pulled the plastic cap off to check fuel pressure and lost it somewhere under the dist or manifold. Checked fuel pressure, pulled the fitting off when I was done. Without that plastic cap on the schrader valve, fuel shot straight up into the air.

So I just screwed the fp guage back on so I could drive. I cant find that stupid cap anywhere and am having a bitch of a time finding one.

Checked parts stores and they dont have them. Seems like an easy enough thing to find but I am having trouble.

Any advice??

 

Any JY's near you? Any similar year GM vehicle should have the same shrader valve.

 

unfortunately I have not been able to find any pick n pull's in austin texas. There were plenty in Dallas. I'll have to look again.

 

Check at a regular JY - they may just give it to you.

Are these things supposed to leak without that cap on it?

 

I don't think so - it's more like the cap on the valve stem for your tires.

 

Thats what i thought too....Dont know why fuel shot out unless the spring on the valve stem is just old and weak.
