Easiest way to drop a Gas Tank?
Easiest way to drop a Gas Tank?
As it stands i'm buying a 89, Camaro The car has been sitting for the better part of a Decade, with about a full tank of gas. The Car starts when you add gas thru the TBI, but wont start on it's own. which leads me to belive the Gas has settled and Clogged the Fuel filter. I want to remove all the gas, and then replace the Fuel filter which should fix the issue of the not starting on it's own.. I dont have the car in my possesion it's in RI and i live in CT so i'll be doing the work there what is an easy and effective way to do this. There wont be any gas in it so that shouldn't be an issue if anyone has some tips or tricks please let me know.

there's no easy way of dropping a tank...disconnect the lines and electrical connector from the pump, and then unbolt the straps. lowering it is all up to you. I do it the dumb way, but its easy for me and I know I won't damage the tank...I just unbolt the straps and let the tank down on my chest while under it, then just slide it off...I did that with a 22 gallon olds tank once...it sucked. every time I tried to use a hydrolic jack brassed with plywood or something I ended up damaging the tank. this way works best for me...but you may be in luck...a buddy of mine has recently shown me a way to get into the tank without dropping it. check this out, it may help. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tpi/...tank-pump.html
Hmm, yeah i figured i was just going to have to end up doing it that way, i've got to get in there to clean out this tank to get all that bad gas out of there which i know is cause this no Start issue...
