urgent help needed!! what year do these TPIS runners fit??? [see pic]
Hello
I stumbled upon some tpis runners but i dont know what year they are for.
Are they 89 and later or 88 and earlier? I have an 89 do they fit? I beleive 89 doesnt have a 9th injector port.
THanks

Got any pics? Actually, you should do a search in the TPI forum for 1989 runner pics and compare what you find to what you have. Good luck, man.

Umm, did you forget something... the pic, maybe?
If you'd posted it, I could tell you.
The 9th injector port is in '85-'88 runners. The extra hole is located in the lower mounting flange of the driver's side runners. '89+ had no 9th injector, and therefore, no extra hole in the runner flange, making it similar to the flange of the passenger side runners.

Are those runners modified to fit 89 and up, looks like the 9th hole is plugged or something. I've got an 87, so I wouldn't know if that is normal.

That's how they're made by the company that makes them for TPiS(whose name may or may not be a secret, though I'd think it's obvious who it is). The same runners(with the hole) are used for all years, but rather than cast them both ways, they plug the hole for '89+ years(straight from the maker's mouth).
So if someone had a set for '85-'88 and wanted to delete his 9th injector or use them on an '89+, he would just do the same thing--plug that hole.
