Best Heads For Lingenfelter Cam
Best Heads For Lingenfelter Cam
What would be a better set of heads to use. The motor is the original TPI 350 when I pulled it out my plan was to use big heads big cam and an efi tunnel I was working on. I changed my mind and bought a smaller lingenfelter cam. Lift is .499/.525 and duration is 211/219 on a 112 lobe separation. I have two sets of heads and not sure what to use. The first is a set of iron 416 cut to fit 1.94/1.5 valves they have some bowl work done and decked lighty to 56 or 57 cc. The next is a set of Aluminum Pro Comp/Super Flow/StrikeForce ebay specials they have 200cc intake runners and 2.02/1.6 vavles with 64cc chambers. I worried about low compression and velocity with the bigger aluminum heads. I tpi intake base is stock and the plenum and runners are ported somewhat. I'm also used hooker long tubes and a stock throttle body.

To be honest, I don't think it matters which set of heads you use for that combo as long as you're using the stock intake base. I was originally going to suggest that you make sure that the heads will support the airflow of the cam you're using (i.e. make sure that the springs are good to .525 lift, etc.), but until you remove the biggest "choke point" in the engine, you'll be restricted to whatever it'll flow...
