EGR Valve Questions

What is the easiest way to remove carbon stuck in the seat of an EGR valve? Also, where is the EGR Valve letter located and what's the easiest way to get to it? (ie does the intake manifold need to come off)

there is no easy way to do it.
the EGR valve is mounted on the intake base, you have to remove the plenum & runners to get to it.

Plenum, yes. Runners, no. I was easily able to replace my EGR valve simply by pulling the plenum.

your hands must be smaller than mine, or you can move your fingers better, 30+ years of auto repair has taken its toll on my hands
i was able to get the EGR valve off on mine without pulling the runners, but i couldn't start one of the bolts with the runner on, seems like it was the drivers side runner i had to pull. its not a big deal so i went ahead & pulled the other side so all the gaskets would be new.
