Injector help
Injector help
Hey guys. I have a serious fuel problem. my car is running incredibly rich. i have 23 pound injectors in my tuneport setup that was originally a 305 with 19 lb injectors. i swapped out the injectors not thinkin about the computer being set up for 19 pound injectors. i am going to drop my stock fuel pressure low enough so that the 23s act like 19s, but im not sure exactly where to drop it to. it anyone knows of any other ways to get the afr correct id appreciate the comment. i am going to get a hcip burnt down the road, but i dont want to do it until i have the exhaust and nitrous on the car so i can get all the power out on the dyno. any help is appreciated, thanks

You can not drop the fuel pressure for enough to get them act like 19s,,, buy the right injectors and sell the 23s. You made a mistake, its time to do the right thing for yourself and your car. This is unfortunate, but you have to go with 19s in a 305.
its not a 305, its a 350. i know for a fact that you can drop the fuel pressure enough because a shop near my house has done it to a few cars i know of. i just dotn want to cut up my fuel pressure regulators diaphragm spring. preciate the idea though

23#? Don't think I've seen those yet, who makes them? And how low do you think you can drop the pressure until you suffer a deterioration of the spray pattern? Not sure anyone has ever posted anything on that. Whay aren't you getting a chip burned? Do you still have the 305 knock sensor? Oh... and you should adjust the injectors to what the motor needs as opposed to trying to emulate an injector that isn't supposed to be in there anyway.

Either burn the chip to accomodate the injectors or get 19#'s.
those are your choices.
Its very simple if you want to do it properly.

Well is it a 305 or a 350? 305 is 19# stock 350 is 22# stock.
I agree with 3.8.....burn a chip!
I have 24# from a LT1 in my 305.....but I had it all tuned. And it runs great. You cant make those changes in your motor and not let the computer know.

alright here we go....the spray pattern will suffer, but having the car run so rich that u can reak of gasoline for the day if u stand behind the car and revv the motor is worth that loss. it is a 350 car now, used to be a 305, i pulled the 305 and put the 350 in and swapped injectors then. for the most part the computer will take car of putting the proper amount fuel into the motor, its a maf car. whether or not anyone has posted on doing that, i have seen it done, u just cut a round off of the spring on the fuel pressure regulator diaphragm, and then use your adjustable fuel pressure regulator to bump the pressure up to where you need it. i plan on getting a chip burnt for it, but it is oging to be a nitrous car, so i want the chip to be burnt to pull the power out of it on the bottle, not have to get it reburnt when the bottle goes n the car
