New Runners and 355 TPI

I just finished these. Stock runners with 3 coats of VHT flat black and 1 coat of VHT clear. Eventually they will be swapped out for a set of AS&M's but I like painting stuff. Enjoy!

Those look mint! Good job on the paintwork.

rwdtech is right, they do look as if they've been powder coated.

I still haven't decided what I'm going to do with my TPI set up. I'm kinda parshal to the "natural aluminum finish" factory look. But every now and then, I see painted runners like yours or plenums that have been painted to match, and I start wondering whether or not I should do the same with mine.

It's a tough call

Decisions, decisions......

I'll make up mind mind soon enough (I hope)

lol...

Well for now it's the theme I have going. Once I get the new runners, I'll paint the base and plenum again but this time using the clear and more coats of black. Only used 2 coats on the plenum and old runners, looked faded. But I'm leaving the AS&M runners the same metal finish they come with, maybe wetsand them down and clear them or something. I suggest you do throw some color at the TPI. It does look good the way it is, but honestly, throw some color at it and you won't be disappointed. You could find the paint code from your car and use that color?

Finally, the engine is done. Now all I need is the money to take the car home

Here are some pics, oh and I still have to install the MSD box and Fuel pressure gauge.

Heres a vid of me starting it up. I totally forgot to go to the back of the car and I nearly fell when I was opening the hood. Call it new engine jitters.

That made me laugh. Thanks, the car sounds awesome, my camera does no justice what so ever.

LOL!! yup, that sounds like peter griffin!

car seems to idle quite high, and very smooth for a lt4 hotcam.. then again I'm used to hearing it in a lil old 305.

from reading your signature, it sounds like its going to be a quick car now!

When I started it up before I turned the camera on, the alt belt squeeled and it idled at the same rpm. As soon as I turned the camera off and slammed the hood down, the idle dropped to 900 and stayed there. It sounded so sweet with the LT4 hotcam. Yeah it would sound a little more aggresive in a 305. What headers are you running? I have the Hedman shorties with their Ypipe, 3" magnaflow cat and the Flowmaster 80 series. I think you have something similar eh Brisk? I heard it run again yesterday and I'm in love, lol! I just wish I had the coin to take it home

I'm running Hooker shortie headers, custom mandral 3" y pipe and exhaust through a flowmaster 80 series.

I've bought a L98 350 now and I'm prepping to build it up with AFR heads, but I'm still undecided on which cam to use. You'll have to let me know how the hotcam runs in your car now.
