What is the A.I.R. select valve? Is it inside the air diverter valve box connected to the smog pump? I finally have everything in the engine compartment! 99% of everything is hooked up. I only have 2 mystery wires, one of which I think was used to power an aftermarket coil at one point... but the other one is near the back of the engine and has an "emissions looking" connector on it. There are 2 wires going to a 2 plug connector. One of the wires is brown, and I think the other is green (I will have to look again to be for sure). I looked in my Chilton's Manual, but there aren't any really good picures of all the components for the 5.7 tpi. I might have to try to post some pics... but be forewarned... the wiring is still scary looking!

 

Pry open the cover and there should be two similar connections inside the black divert control box. I used the natural curve of the old wire harness to determine which connectors fit which plug (when I swapped a TPI into a malibu). Hope yours is as easy.
