TPI problems
A year ago, I purchased a 92 Camaro Z28 TPI with a 5.0L engine. I found out few months later I bought the car that the fuel injection system was wired directly, (mickey mouse work). It caused some wierd short which my mechanic cannot find and its causing tremendous loss of power in my 5.0. Has anyone ever experienced what I'm currently going through.

well if your machanic cant find it you might be in trouble. check your grounds, sensors, injectors. second if you have a scanor, check to see what codes are comeing up.

If you have a short you would be blowing fuses, lots of codes and/or the engine would not start. If none of these are occuring I would consider the wiring and sensors good.
A few causes of loss of power:
Timing is wrong
Bad spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Bad ignition module
Bad coil
Bad fuel filter
Bad fuel
Bad injectors
Bad sensor that measures manifold air (can't remember the name for SD cars)
Vaccuum leak
Blown head gasket
Blown cylinder rings
Worn camshaft/lifters
If you have an automatic... ummm yeah
