Emissions Removal
Are there any noticable gains from removing the emissions systems on our cars? I mean like, would it be worth while to remove the emissions equipment or would the cons outweight the pros?

If your state doesnt do a visual, or a sniffer, you can take it out and see maybe 2hp from removing the pump. I took mine out mainly to unclutter the engine bay, and I passed the sniffer with flying colors.

A) its hardly worth it.
B) its illegal regardless of your state's emissions testing. Smog stuff on cars is a federal thing.
C) Please do a search, this topic has been beat to death.

Actually, you are incorrect on Point B. There is no Federal Agency that enforces it, it is strictly a standard which the individual state can chose to enforce. Therefore, if your state doesn't enforce it, there is no problem.
The risk is, if your state should chose to begin enforcing the Federal Emission levels, you may find that you need to do retro modifications so your car can meet the original Emission levels of the day.
Also, it is illegal to alter the eprom if your state enforces emission testing. Of course, unless they check, how would they know?

Didn't notice any difference from the removal of my stuff, since I removed it right when i did my hooker 2055's. I noticed a HUGE difference but it was becuase of the headers. I dont know if it would of really made a difference since I never drove it with the stock exhaust manifolds still on. I know it didnt cause a power loss or ses light.

Like I said, main reason to take it out would be if you were trying to clean up that engine bay or cut down on weight like I did. I think all in all theres 20 - 30lbs of equiptment to remove.
