idle

87 305 tpi motor will not hold idle on cold starts just starts and die unless i give it gas but afer warm up idles fine

Transmission: th700r4

Axle/Gears: 3:08,3:27

It sounds like your cold start switch or injector's not working.I would start there.The switch is on the front of the intake manifold and the injector is on the left fuel rail about center.
