TPI INJECTORS???

I need to get brand new injectors for my 5.7, they are very expensive! Does anyone know where I could get some, I've heard you can get them from Summit or Jegs for around $350 I also need the orings and gaskets for the runners, etc.

piggyback post about injectors

Instead of a new post, I thought I'd ask about these injectors for my 5.0 TPI.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Fuel-...mZ150061409182

Will these work for my stock application? Are they too cheap to be trusted?

Opinions??

I dunno, if you read down the ad (not to mention the title) it says this;
* Fuel Injectors 19# Ford Mustang TPI BMW 5.0L 4.6L *
and
WITH POSSIBLE FUEL MODIFICATIONS THESE FIT :

GM:

1990 deville 4.5 V-8
1991-95 deVille 4.9 V-8
1985-88 Firebird TPI 305
1985-88 Camaro TPI 305

1994-96 Caprice 4.3 V-8

You think these are misrepresented? I really don't know and what I know about injectors could fit on the head of a pin.

Those injectors will work but they are probally too small for a 350 (22-24lbs). They will work for a 305 tho.

305 injectors are 19 lbs and 350s are 22lbs. if you change the flow ratings you will starve or make your engine run right buning extra fuel and getting no realy hp. if you want to put on bigger injectors you got to get a new chip put in. dont bother going anybigger until you get more power out of the stock engine.

ford, chev. does not matter as long as they fit in every way. infact the best injectors for our cars at a good price is svt injectors from ford.

do not buy those off ebay. they are not flow tested and look like garbage. they are just remans. take your injectors and get them cleened for way cheeper. or do it yourslef. do a serch on it. i think all you need is some varsal and soking time. never done it, but i herd thats all you got to do.

and why do you need new injectors, you got a bad one? if your car is running fine and you are looking for some power dont go this route

Well? I suppose it's running fine for 100K miles on the clock, a little hunting idle problem to chase down though. Probably unrelated too. But I'm going to tear down the TPI system for cosmetic reasons and to freshen up all gaskets associated with it. This car's service history, before me, is riddled with random injector replacements by GM under warranty then by private garages. So much so that from the good record keeping he did there were 5 of the original injectors replaced from about 19K miles to 90K miles. It's clear by visual check that they aren't of the same brand.
So I was thinking along the lines of "while I'm at it" I might as well replace the injectors for maintenance reasons alone. And not with higher flow or anything, just the best injector that I can buy within my budget. And these are well within my budget.

I considered sending mine to that cruzinperformance guy but his website says he is taking sets in on a limited basis, so I don't know if that would be a brick wall for me or not. These ones are at hand.

But, if you think they are junk then I trust that and I can move on.I just was wishing these were going to help me out for what looks like a good price.

BTW, I e-mailed him and he replied that these do indeed fit the 305TPI applications for fit and flow.

well what is your budget? there are really good flow tested injectors. check www.jegs.com and summitracing.com. both have good parts and free shipping.

I looked into those same injectors. The seller said they were a dircet fit for TPI engines. He does claim to having them tested, cleaned and flowmatched or tested. His rating is 99.4 and I did read some of his feedback. The only thing he's got other than good is one neutral. Might be a good deal though...

Not being a high priority I was willing to spend a $100 or so. I looked at summit and it's about $260 for all 8 and that's more than I want to spend just as a preventative maintenence issue.

I did the same thing and came to the same conclusions.

And that's it in a nutshell too. I'll think about it for awhile and maybe I'll be a the test case for remanned e-bay injectors.

And maybe someone else here can testify to these remanned injectors.

But I like your thinking on this dave and mongoose, and my appoligize for hijacking this thread mknight111.

I run ford bosch 22's in mine. Pink tops. They work great. 5.0 motorsports on ebay. I think I paid $189.00 for 8 new takeouts. removed from modified crate motors. No complaints here.

Hey Guys,

I'm the eBay seller you guys are talking about... eBay lets you see what sites people come from to view your listings.. I stand 100% behind my injectors and will even replace them if they break down months down the road. The 19lb injectors are stock TPI 305 size. I do actually have some TPI injectors that I received as cores. If you guys want I can list those rather then the Ford ones. I also sell the Rochester 24lb which come from LT1 motors and are great for 350 TPI as well as stock LT1.

I do give refunds on your cores once you send them back but it varies on what #/hr you have. The TPI rails fit with both style injectors. Some people claim they have to shave down the post a little bit some say it works fine.

I've owned 1 third gen (305 Quadrajet 1984 Camaro), 2 4th Gens, all are sold.. Now I drive a 05 GTO.

If you don't believe it's me you can contact me on eBay I'll be more than glad to confirm.

Only if you have an eBay store. You get to see Traffic Reports. They show you how many hits you get... where they come from... what listings get teh most hits. How many "visits" which is a 30 minute surf of your site and so on.
