Painting TPI runners

How hot do the runners get on a Tuned port system? I am going to paint mine, and I was wondering how hot they got so I can determine what type of paint to use.

run your car, touch a themometer to it. you will know. you could probably rent a thermal one or find a buddy with one. local shop should lave one. im sure if you passed them some cash they will let you read the temp. i would use some high heat paint. it does nto look as good, but it would look like sh it if it starts to come off

Just use some engine enamel, they make it in any color you'd want.

Spray enamel. "Import/Drifter Chrome" is OEM the color.

i do not have the TPI set up on my car, so it will be hard for me to take the temp of them. my car was carburated. The runners are too dinted to polish. I already tried that and it looked like crap after I shined one side. Sense i cannot afford a new set, i am going to paint these. I found a nice color that i am going to paint them. i dont believe they get any hotter then 180 or 200 degrees.

I painted mine with 1200 degree aluminum from Dupli-color and then cleared it with the same high temp clear. Color changed from an almost ceramic coated color to a darker titanium colr which loos cool. Haven't drove it much since I finished the swap last weekend but at normal engine temps (160-180) no problems yet.
