Cammed up TPI?

Ok I have Team G Weiand intake and a 650 holley double pumper. But i also have my stock TPI stuff. The cam I have in my motor is a flat tappet cam with .550 and .558 lift and 280 and 284 duration. This isnt a high end RPM cam so i make my power low in the power range. So I was thinking that i would keep the carb stuff but run the TPI stuff for now and see if it out performs the carb. Now the question......

With my motor being cammed up will it throw my TPI off or sumpin? Will my stock computer be able to keep up with the changes?

The lift on that cam is outrageous for
any TPI motor and would more than likely
take a aftermarket valvetrain just to run
that cam safely. I tend to stay below .500
when choosing a TPI cam, depending on
cylinder head application.

If your TPI is MAF you can stick the cam in
there, and it will run the real question is "How
long?"

What heads are you running, stockers?

To run that cam, you will need to do some prom work. But, it's not the right cam for a stock TPI system - they are a "mis-match". The TPI will not be able to breath properly where that cam wants to run.

If you change the intake to a Holley Stealth Ram or a Miniram/LT1 system, then that cam will work just fine.
