need recommendation on valve covers to work with 1.6 rr's..

I installed comp 1.6 rollers on my '88 TPI, and cut the bracing out of my factory valve covers. now they are either warped or hitting the rockers, but either way, they are not sitting flush on the heads..

I would like a set of tall centerbolt covers.

my question is: will tall covers with baffles clear the rockers, or do I need non-baffled ones??

I had to get the tall valve covers when i went to 1.6 roller rockers.Had the same problem. You should be able to get them from your locaal speed shop or on line at jegs or any other performance parts place. I got mine at Pace performance GM parts.I used non baffeled.

Hmmm. The stock covers worked just fine with 1.6 roller rockers and my ZZ9 cam. I was using Trickflow heads.

Now with the motor I'm installing now I had to go with the tall covers. This is with the Comp Cams XFI-268 cam and Dart Pro One heads. I also used taller 7/16 studs.

We are using the stock valve covers on my 355 083 heads with comp pro mag 1.6 rockers. Sits flush with a one turn preload. Antyning less and the top of the permaloc nut is hitting the top of the valve cover.

Heres what I used on mine, baffled. Go to summits website PRO-141-131 Very happy with the quality. Assuming of course you used the correct narrow body self aligning rockers.
