ENGINE WONT START HELP PLEASE!!!!
ENGINE WONT START HELP PLEASE!!!!
After who knows how long, I finally tried to start my TPI 350 today (89 Camaro). I made a home made wiring harness and now I'm stuck.
The engine swapped in was purchased from ebay, here's what Ive figured out.
No spark, Seprately mounted coil is getting power and sending it to the distributer. All the ohm checks from the manual are okay. The coil should be good. I took off the module in the distributer, ohmed the two wires that are inside the distributer that plug into the module. They ohm out to eachother, but not to ground.
I don't know if I can do a check on the module, so I am picking one up tomarrow and ohm it and compare to the old one. Could the ESC also play a part in this? The book doesn't talk about it like it would. I am only getting a "12" code, no others. I do not have my alturnator hooked up. I am getting almost 60psi oil pressure. The only relays I have are both MAF's and my Fuel pump relay. What could I be missing?
On a side note, by fuel pressure climes right up to 47psi while cranking, but drops to 0 right away when I stop cranking. Is that normal? I would have thought it would hold pressure. There are no leaks that I have found.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Josh.
