is this true???
is it true I had a local mechanic tell me that TPI engines do not have mass air flow sns. is that the truth or do I need to find another mechanic to talk to.

depending what year tpi you have some years had map sensor and some came with maf sensor ....mine1989 gta 350 tpi has a maf sensor

yea I have anotheer that I go to and hes better be sides this guy said he worked for gm and siad cars cannot run without a maf and EVERY car has one even my 91 z I though he might be dumb

sounds like your typical GM employee. some guys at the dealership will try to tell you stuff based on the new HHR, and think it applies to a 20 year old car with a totally different engine.

Yeah all the TPI except the '90-92's had a MAF, the 90-92 had speed density as someone mentioned above. You could always just pop the hood and look and see if you've got a maf
