Fuel Filter Swap

Very new to TPI..I have a 1989 formula firebird 350. want to change fuel filter. I have always had carb cars so easy. Looks pretty easy but I did a search and heard people talking about 0-rings and stripping nuts to the fuel filter. Other than buying a new fuel filter, do I need to buy new o-rings? I read about how to depressurize the fuel system. just dont want to take it apart and find out I need something I dont have..

easy question for most I know.....

Thanks

just spray it really well with penetraiting oil and let it soak in. I use two vice-grips to get it off. (wont hurt the nuts if your careful). put the new one on with the arrow going the right way. Nothing else needed ...

you need a 16mm, 20mm and 10mm wrench to change the fuel filter.... thats how it is on my camaro and im pretty sure its the same on the firebird.

Yes, there are tiny o-rings on the ends of the fuel lines where they plug into the filter at each end. But unless you have a drip out of either end of the old filter, they should still be good. So no worries, it's very unlikely you'd have to replace them.

For about a dollar I won't take a chance.
