Which car needs 6AL more?
Ok, long story "shortened".
I installed an MSD 6A in my Formula. I already have one in my Nova. I bought another one off of a friend to use in my fiance's Civic, and it turned out to be a 6AL.
First off the Civic is hers, and it's only for gas miliage purposes, not racing. (1.5L VTEC-E)
Second, I was thinking of puting the 6AL in the Formula for rev limiting reasons, and use the new 6A for the Civic. The Civic has a rev limiter in the ECM. Does the Formula also have a rev limiter? ('88 L98)
Third, if the Formula has a rev limiter stock, I'll put the 6AL in the Nova (which is carburated and has no limiter), and put the old 6A in the Civic.
Either way she gets the 6A, and one of my cars gets the 6AL.
Thoughts?

put the 6A in the bird
put the 6AL in the nova
I have a 6A in my civic & you cant just install it it will burn the factory coil out within a week if you do you'll have to buy a MSD distributor cap & blaster 2 coil

My 88 L98 had a rev limiter in the ECM. Stock it was set at over 10k RPM's though, LOL. But you can change it...

Just make sure you wire it so you can disable it when it goes bad...they all do. LOL

Re: Which car needs 6AL more?
I've had the same MSD 6A in 4 cars in the past 10 years with great results. Never gone bad.
Looks like I'm gonna put the AL in the Nova, and I already put a 6A in the bird. After I switch the 6A for the 6AL, I'll put the 6A in the Civic.
Thanks all!!
