I thought I would have too. Simply because the lines are below the top of the radiator fluid level so gravity would simply push the coolant out of the lines??? Or is it only when the engine is running that the coolant is circulating?

when I did mine I lost perhaps 3 cups of coolant in all. Just have a catch can at the ready or put some towles down.

Coolant should come out at minimal because the thermostat is closed and coolant that spills is trapped in the manifold. Therefore the coolant will not start rushing out as thought because line is lower then radiator hose
