Ordered and recieved my new base from Jegs

A heads up.
I ordered the other day and recieved my new Accel base from Jegs today. What I recieved was a unmarked base with no part marks or manufactures names on it. It's obviosly an after market base but I have no idea who made it. It comes very ruff with the intake openings measuring 1.54 diameter. It's champhered to a gasket match but gets ruff soon after. I will open it up (sand it smooth) for a smooth transition into the square area to about 1.65" diameter, this will match my Accell LTP and plenum and runners.

Yup that's what I got but with no markings at all. I have the Accel LTR with a matching plenum and a gasket set from Accel, The accel gaskets match the passinger side of the intake if I port it to match but the passinger side doesn't come close, the gaskets buckel and deform and throw the intake hole alignment way off when I add the little plastic incerts to aline the gaskets. This Is going to make port matching very difficult.

I just ported the drivers side that had the buckled gaskets and it turned out well. I almost had to siamese the ports on the intake to align the runners to the intake. I now have to contour the round part to the square intake area, this can be tricky but I think I can do a good job, I will have to cut/trim the Accel gaskets to match the matting port work. I wish I could show pictures but I don't know how.

Yep....my TPIS big mouth has the same edelbrock part # on the bottom also. Not impressed with the quality of the casting at all. REMEMBER when you assemble it....the long bolt in the runners between cylinder's 5 and 7 goes into water so MAKE SURE you use sealant on that bolt!

Thanks, I didn't know that. I haven't assembleled a TPI yet because I'm still getting parts, I'm down to a VSS for my turbo 350, a few new sencers and a re-programed prom to fit a 383 with a 89 maf Accel set up.
