fuel pump problem?
Im not sure if this is the right forum for this so here goes. I went to start my camaro to go to work this morning and i didnt hear the pump turn on, i tried it a few more times then i heard the pump turn on. It still wouldnt start so i tried again and again the pump didnt start. Is there a easy way to test and make sure its a bad fuel pump without havin to remove it? Also if it is the fuel pump can i put a aftermarket inline fuel pump on? The place i live at doesnt allow repairs like that on the property and im thinkin it would be pricey to have a shop change it out. Any help with suggestions and input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

try another FP relay
they usually go bad
if it ws the pump then it would normally have hard starting symptoms for a while before completely dying, like over a month or two's time
there is a test wire under the hood somewhere to plug a hot wire into to see if the pump runs/works
single connector one all by itself
usually by the brake booster somewhere tucked away
goood luck

well i checked my fuel pressure and its at about 43. looks like the motor is getting fuel. i checked for spark off the number 1 plug wire and when i held it to the manifold i didnt see any spark. would it spark across to the manifold? if it will then it looks like i got other probs. ill probably change out the dist next weekend. this same prob happened to me a few years ago as well, thats whats makin me think its the dist again. if anyone has any ideas what it might be other then the dist any input will be helpful. even with the gas prices goin up around here its still nice to be able to drive my camaro. thanks in advance.
