383 hsr combo questions
Im new to the TPI world i just picked up an 85 Z with a tired lb9 that has some blow by, im switching to a 87 harness and a 165 ecm. I'm going to build a 383, stealth ram with 30lb injectors, a set of edelbrock performer rpm heads, and a hyd roller around 220-230 duration with around .550 lift with a 112-114LSA my questions are 1. Does any one make a larger MAF or a way to upgrade the housing cause that looks like its gonna be a bit of restriction.
2. I really want to stay away from longtubes due to the ground clearance problems I dont want to be the guy that everybody looks are while draggin my expensive *** exhaust over a speed bump-(learned that on my 98 TA) would the edelbrock tes headers w/3" y-pipe that are on the car choke that kind of power, if they would be a huge restriction what would you recommend. I know its a compromise when using shorties but i want a driver that will go anywhere without worry.
3.Never ran a 383 before i heard due to increase in displacement you can run a larger cam and it doesnt affect drivability as much, brings me to this question on 355 with the above cam i would use a stall between 2800-3200 so would you go with a lower stall like 2200-2500?
4.an easy one-who does good custom chips
TIA

Dont swap to the 165, instead repin to a '730 and go speed density.
I don't know how much cam you plan on putting in that TPI setup, but anything over 224/230 degrees is gonna not work so well with TPI. I'd go with an 1800 with a cam like that.

In addition to the info above, I'd go with either Hooker or SLP headers instead of the TES units.

Definately go with the 730ecm and speed density. For the StealthRam, a member laided down 341 rwhp with a 383, trickflow heads, and 224/230 cam.
