What all goes on in the warm up, open loop mode?
Hi, I wanted to know what computer controlls in the warm up mode.
I've noticed that my 305 tends to run really fast/hard/good when its first started. It really jerks you in the seat and takes off great. Than once it warms up the performance goes down hill. I am just wondering what comp does, and whats going on throughout the warm up mode?? Once its warmed up it still runs great, but not as hard. I tuned up everything on it. From plugs, to wires, to cap/rotor, HI6s ignition, air filter, injectors, o2 sensor you name it.
I am thinking higher fuel preassure, idle is higher for sure, what else??
P.S. I used to be a TBI guy, so I am re-learning the whole thing!

In open loop, the computer does not use input from the oxygen sensor. It runs off of tables stored internally. When the car is cold, the car richens up the fuel mixture to help the car and catalytic converter get up to operating temperature faster.
