Anyone running Crane Cam HR-284-2S-12-1G
After a lot of computer testing with DYNO SIM this looks to be the best cam for my planned buildup. Is anyone running this cam? I ask because Crane says it isn't computer compatible. But looking at the specs it should work with some computer tuning.

Don't think it'll be getting you 550hp. 480-510 ish. Just not enough duration.
Something around 236 degrees of .050" intake duration might get you there, if the heads are darn good.

Hmm....your wrong. I've made 600 hp on the dyno with close to the same cam on a Ford 400.

I've revised my thoughts, now I think about 450hp. Probably less through long runners. And I'm not trying to be a di*k either, honestly.

IMHO that is a lazy cam. It has slow ramp rates. I think the Comp Cams XFI280 is a much better cam in that duration range if your heads can take the added lift.
It has more 8 degrees more duration at .050" and about the same or less seat to seat. Crane and Comp Cams measure the seat to seat differently so that is not apples to apples.

Yeah, the HSR will help. Didn't see that in your post or sig (still don't). But, still not much cam for the power you're aiming for, and the lazy advertised to .050" ratio will not be computer friendly, until you dig into the prom a bit. Dual pattern typically is for exhaust flow problems. Do you have any restrictions (like possibly the exhuast port on those heads)?
