Issue: I seem to get a miss and subsuquent backfires in my collectors at part throttle cruise. It is intermittant-comes and goes at will. I am going to check the following things, please tell me what else I can check.

-verify fuel pressure (recently replaced pump)
-ohm injectors hot & cold
-check plug wires for burns
-check plugs for fouling
-check dist cap/rotor (and obviously the wires for tight connections)

*ignition module/pickup coil/ignition coil new last summer
** stock 20 pound injectors (5.0 TPI setup on 355 block)
***Walbro 65gph fuel pump at stock fuel pressure on stock injectors

Thank You for reading..

Re: Miss at part throttle/backfiring
Start small, check plugs and wires as stated, and also check for exhaust leaks in that area. I have a crack by the muffler, and I get popping when coming down from a high rpm, I can only assume that yours might act that way if the leak is by the collector.

Good luck
