89 IROC, TPI, at wot it boggs, then if I let off and slowly press the gas it is ok
I have a 89 TPI.5.0. when i really hit the pedal hard it boggs and does not want to give any more rpm's. If I let off the gas a little and gradually push it it does not bogg it runs ok. only when I am alredy going around 45 mph then if i hit the gas pedal hard it will do this. Do i need to adjust the trans cable that I hear guys talking about and If so how is that done.

stock. I never checked it, how would i do that. this problem does not happen all the time, do you still think it is a fuel pressure problems if it happens twice a week.

is the fuel pressure the only cause for the car to bogg at WOT? or can there be something else. I just went through the painful experience of putting on a set of SLP runners and I would hate to take those off to replace the fuel pressure regulator. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, because it does not happen all the time and when it is colder out the car seems to run better. I have a custom stage 2 chip(agressive timming advance and idle is set higher due to the low voltage from the underdive pulley kit, SLP runners, emission stuff off, under drive pulley, not cat., ac delete kit, throttle body bypass kit,modified MAF,CAT. back exhaust, I am putting on edelbrock headers soon and a torque converter lockup switch asap. I have had rouble with the MAF before, I have gone through 3 of them,
I have replaced all the Maf relay's and the pigtail plug. Does anyone think it can be the MAF causing it since right now there is more air coming in the the exhaust is pushing out? I am open to any ideas and need help, My wife currently beat me with our minivan because of this problem and I am still recouping from this scar that is from losing to a minivan. So please Help, For the sake of all 3rd gen's out there that I represent. I need this fixed to regain my manhood and respect that we all deserve. Your 3rdgen brother, Jason
