89 LB9

I'm about to buy a 89 Trans Am with an automatic LB9, now when I look in the tech board there are 3 different LB9 for 89, what's up with that? why is there so much difference in the numbers... is it because of heads and exhaust?

Re: 89 LB9

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I believe the 5-speeds had a higher horsepower rating because of a bigger cam, and the dual catalytic converter cars (GU9 i think?) had a few more ponies too. At least this is my understanding.
