Will this fit?

1985 Firebird, TPI (305)

Will this distributor fit?

Applications says it fits 76-81 305 engines.. Why the small window? I wasn't aware they made a change to the 305 engines after 81?

you TPI computer controlls the timing and many of your sensors will not function without the signal from the computer after it moves the timing

whats wrong with your stock dissy?

It's 31 years old. Currently running a 305 out of a '76 Malibu. Looking to do a TPI swap, but first I need to get this engine running good. Was hoping if I bought that distrib it would work with the current setup, but still be good when I went TPI. My TPI setup is off an 85 firebird.

Need something cheap right now. The 305 has some timing issues I'm trying to get resolved.

Thanks,

Mathius

Re: Will this fit?

that summit dissy is a vaccum or mechanical advance system

It will work with your current setup but not with the TPI
