heads and cam

Hey guys I need you help. Right now I've got a stock L98 with headers, new cat and flowmaster exhaust. I also live in california so I have to stay emissions legal. I was thinking of putting in AFR 180cc heads and a ZZ-9 cam from tpis. I'm also going to keep the LTR set up and get the intake and runners from edlebrock. Is this a good combination for the street?

Re: heads and cam

This is close to my setup. I've got 'vette heads, ZZ9 cam, tpis intake and edelbrock runners. I had everything ported and extrude honed. Headers exhaust etc a lot of other details. I just got it back from the shop but I hope to dyno it soon! I expect it will make close to 300 rwhp.

It is really, really fun on the street, kicks a$$ but not too much to loose traction all the time, and you hardly have to give it any throttle. It looks stock and it sounds amazing.

Re: heads and cam

That sounds great. I've also got a new tranny in the car with a 2200rpm stall in it. Does your car pass smog?

Re: heads and cam

I also had the trans done and have a 2200 stall. The original 3.23 rear end though. It is set up to run 3.40s in the future.

I don't have to smog until later in the year, but I don't expect any trouble. The person who built the car is known for making them really run clean.

Re: heads and cam

Thats good man. When you get it to the dyno let me know the results. It's going to be interesting to see what kind of numbers you get.
