24 lb Injectors

I am doin a 305 TPI to 350 TPI swap and I have 24 lb injectors and I was told they are tooo big and that is why my car is runnin rich...so my question is can i just switch to some 19lb injectors or even 22 lb injectors w/o having to mess with the prom that I have already had made for this car?

Re: 24 lb Injectors

well you asked if you could switch to 22's without messing with the prom, side question what prom do you have 305 or 350? if you have the 350 prom put 22's in it and you will be fine.

Re: 24 lb Injectors

i think with the 19's you would run a little lean, without prom work, if you have the equipment to burn your own chips then yes you will be able to make 19's work. but if you don't the 350 tpi prom will be wanting to shot fuel out of 22's.

or with the 19's you could get a afpr and raise the pressure so it wont run lean, thats another idea and cheaper than new injectors.

that i am not sure about sorry, if you have a air/fuel gauge adjust it yusing that, or if you are by a dyno shop that can measure it use them.

Re: 24 lb Injectors

Having 19s in a 350 is way too lean, however having an AFPR set at max pressure (56 or 58psi) the 19s will be close to the 22s. At 56 psi, the 19s will mimick 22s.

The 24s will work OK, but may run a tad rich a WOT, there will be no problems on drivibility because the change in fuel flow is within the range a change of the ECM.

Re: 24 lb Injectors

can i put 24lb injectors in a 305 TPI and have the computer prom recalibrated? or will this not do any thing. I am going to be putting in a stock LT1 cam or a aftermarket comp cam in with the injectors. I already have two stock LT1 cams a 95 & 97 year and the 24lb. injectors. if this is a bad idea, should i just sell them? I know the answer everyone says is get a 350. This car is like a old friend, and it has been there faithfully so I don't know if I can do that to him and drop in a 350.

Re: 24 lb Injectors

Okay, When I put this 350 in I didnt know I had to change the ESC Module, What does this effect? Would this being the original ESC module from the 305 make my car run bad? I just got the ESC module of tpiparts.net that I ordered so Im gonna put it in tomaro...I was also told that the injectors were bleeding down that I had in now, What problems mite this cause? So Im going to be taking apart the plenum and putting the AFPR in along with the 19 lb. injectors, swappin the ESC module, and prolly a set of plugs from gettin fouled out be the overflow of fuel u think this sounds like I mite be up and running and on my way to the paint job?
----------
and also settin the AFPR to like 56lb with my fuel gauge?
