Code 13 and a 1/4 time

alott happened yesterday whew..car is a 1987 gta with MAF l98. the car has a jasper replacement longblock in it, heads are correct but the cam is unknown so that doesn''t help me a bit.

okay, had a code 42 and code 45 when i got the car, i've been driving it a lil less then a week and the ses light would come on and off intermittantly with no relation to temp, except it never came on right at startup.
yesterday i replaced the o2 sensor, the old one was litteraly broken off though still connected. cleared the comp and drove the car, noticed nothing except perhaps a bit more part throttle power.
went to the dragstrip last night to figure out where im at on this thing and here's the results from my best and worst pass, all passes were extremely consistent for a new to me car, within a tenth and change. i made every run in the same lane, just punching it ,not revvin it up first.

Run 1: Run 2:
60 ft: 2.15 2.31
330 ft:6.23 6.41
1/8th et: 9.6 @69.32 9.90@70.53
1000ft:12.61 12.84
1/4:15.13 @ 91.1 15.38@90.52

the slowest run on th right was the farthest away from average, the other two passes i made(total of four) were very close to my first pass

needless to say it's running like a 305 tpi. the thing is a beast out of the hole, i took a 13 second mustang with DR's to the 1/8th mile on my reaction time and a far better launch. it grabs awesome and chirps em in second on the track.

the thing is after a couple of the passes it seemed like the car was "out of breath" for lack of a better term. it would idle down on my way to get my e/t and almost not run. all these passes were made with the engine at or above 200* because it was taking too friggen long to cool down, it had an hour before we left followed by five min's of driving and wouldn't cool down all night

now i went for a drive after racing and letting it sit for a bit, and it threw an ses light again. i parked and pulled the code and its a code 13, which im unfamiliar with and cannot find by searching here. what do you guys think? the car should run about 8 tenths faster then it did right? and whats a code 13?

Re: Code 13 and a 1/4 time

code 13: o2 sensor circuit open

dunno what that means or why it happened since i replaced it and plugged it in, perhaps i have a bad factory connector or wire. how would i go about testing it, i have a DVOM just got it and have no clue how to use it.

i found in an old magazine i have a list of all the trouble codes for 3rd gen camaro's , v6 v8 tbi tpi carb everything, im going to make a post of it so that people can just refer to it instead of searching, when you search for a code, you get every friggen trouble code post whether it's your trouble code or not. hope it'll help, expect it later this week

Re: Code 13 and a 1/4 time

You need to pull the ECM fuse for a least a minute or two, or disconnect the battery to erase the trouble code from the memory before continuing. If the code reappears then there is an open.

Re: Code 13 and a 1/4 time

need a new o2. and tpi's tend to run out of breath at the big end of the track. i hated it. i used to get freight trained all the time by stangs. now i just blow their doors off with a shadow
