Intake?!

Intake?!

Okay, I hear all the time from Mustang owners "I got a full exhaust with INTAKE." Not once have I ever heard from a 3rd Gen, "I got gears and a INTAKE." Does EFI really differ that much or give that much hp to switch over? I mean I hear they get like 15hp-20hp dynoed from Trick Flow and Cobra Intake. Where is us?! How come Trick Flow doesnt make anything for us?! They already get all the good serpentine mods such as ram air and pulleys for $130 proven for atleast 10hp. How come we just cant bolt on an intake like the mustangs and plow on with our happy little 15hp with almost no effort?! An easy bolt on that I rarely hear 3rd Genners talk about. Now im not talking about the manifold, im talking about the System, they just bolt off that thing that says "EFI 5.0 HO" and plop on a Trick Flow for 15 more horsies. Come on, where are we on this mod?!

I bet I picked up at least 10 to 15 hp when I switched from my ported stock intake to an Edlebrock Hi-Flow on my ZZ4TPI motor. It was a definate SOTP improvement. Perhaps GM's TPI was designed better from the start then the Ford induction system. Not sure. I also believe you can gain about 10-15hp by porting, polishing and gasket matching the TPI intake, runners and plenum. How else could I run a 14.21@96mph with my basically stock 92Z28convt5spd 3:08 rear?
