I know I screwed somthing up but dont know what?

I went to start my car and noticed no prime at fuel pump. Tested pump and it runs but doesnt reflect any pressure build on gauge? Disconnected fuel line at rail and ran it....fuel came out. so pump is working.

Relay is not cycling.

One possibility of my mistake I might have disconnected and reconnected my battery while key was in ignition position. I was doing a lot of wiring and testing and might have forgot to return it to off posn...I am not positive I did this.

I have painless TPI harness and tested fuel relay at red lead and it worked I checked voltage to ecm at fuses in painless harness and read 12 volts.

could I have tweaked my ECM if so would the symptoms be as I described?

why the no pressure at gage though when I power pump with jumper....the gage is not electrical.

I never drive the car and just start it occassionally and I did have power to the fuel pump last week before I installed my keyless entry. that is when I might have connected and disconnected bat with key in on posn.

let me know your thoughts

thx

jeff

Re: I know I screwed somthing up but dont know what?

try a new relay. If power is there, the relay should energize. If it isn't, the the problem is with the relay.

relay works fine I tested it at the red jumper. power isnt there and am trying to figure why not. I went and bought a new ECM .... that was not the issue. I am still stumped

ive got an 89 350 tpi suffering similar troubles, not olny does my fuel pump not work but my injectors dont pulse either. there is a large orange wire that should always have 12volts to it even when the key is off. i believe that the ecm also uses this power source for its memory.
