How come there are no aftermarket intakes based on the design of the thirdgen Firehawk? Would you guys like to see someone manufacture the intake?

I think SLP sells the T-ram. I am sure they have the patent on it, so they are the only one, but I'm sure they sell it.

Unfortunately, the T-ram was discontinued a couple of years after the 91-92 Hawks were released. Ray Falconer (Falconer racing engines) designed the T-ram, and SLP used the design for the Hawks, the dealer optioned cars, and the quantity that were sold direct to the aftermarket crowd. About 2 years ago, I spoke with Dave Hamburger (son of SLP's founder Ed Hamburger of Hamburger Oil pan fame) about a re-release of an updated T-ram. SLP had had a factory fire several years ago and the tooling for the T-ram was destroyed. They were looking for interest, and were trying to come up with a cost. A few of us offered money up front to try to sway them back into production.

Unfortunately, costs were to prohibitive and the idea was killed.

Maybe somebody will design & offer a cheaper alternative to the SuperRam & Mini Ram.

Maybe they would sell the design since the have no intentions of making it again???
Somebody might be able to buy it cheap, I know somebody with a casting workshop that could probably remake the molds, etc.

OK... Ready?

I have the T-Ram and have been posting questions all over the boards here. So far the info I recieved tells me that what everyone so far has said is true, plus they only made around 100 units including the ones that came on the 25 Firehawks built in '92. If you bought the complete kit from Summit it would have run you around $1097.77. I'm not sure how that compares to the Super Ram, but it only had about 6 more HP @ 4500 RPMs (than Super Ram).

Here's a picture... It should be running in a couple of days/weeks. Waitung for fuel lines...

Damnit! Those are so cool! Maybe Snuffies friend might be interested in screwing around with molds to come up with one. It'd be a neat E-business!
