Need Help fast with IAC adjustment!!!!

I am going through instructions from tech article on adjusting idle but when I removed the IAC and tried starting the motor it would not start. Why will it not stay running??

Well, if you read the same article I did, I had the same problem... It doesn't tell you to remove your jumper wire before you start the car. There was also a post about THAT - starting your car, driving it, with the jumper wire still in the ADLD(?) with both positive and negative feedback... Anyways, did you take the jumper out before you attempted to start it? Actually I haven't tried again, because when I realized that was probably the problem, I had already gotten sidetracked with something else. I'm gonna go back and try it again today.

Well, I just tried it, got it started, but can't adjust idle... wtf? The idle stop screw will back out, but the stop on the throttle body won't follow... And it's WAY up there, too - about 1250 rpm's... I posted about it, but if anyone can help me here, please do - I'm all ears... thanks

It would help if I knew what year engine we're talking about.
