What kind of improvements should I expect?

Well, I've got a plan to outrun the wife's Mustang. The Mustang's best time is 13.68, with me driving, she can only muster a 14.22. I have an 85 TA with free mods, and Hooker catback exhaust. My best time with the 3.27 open rear is 15.24.(all times uncorrected). My question is, with these mods, can I beat her 13.68?
slp headers
3.73 gears
Trans-Go shift kit
2400 stall
slp cold air
pulleys
MiniRam II
52mm TB
24 lb injectors
ported stock heads
afpr
custom chip
MSD 6AL
hypertech coil
summit TPI cam(204/214 @50 .420/.442 lift)

Is this going to get me into the low 13's? What about the cam? good/bad, should I go larger? suggestions please!!!! This is going to be a daily driver, and still have the A/C. All the smog BS is gone already, and will never go back on. Do you see any problems with this setup? Need to get a good combo to start with, can't spend all this money twice, and this is my first TPI car. Thanks for the advice

You need to change the cam with everything else you are doing. If not you will be shorting yourself som performance. Then yes you should be in the mid 13's with a little fine tunning and a little track moads you should be able to beat her

I agree with 88TAGTA!

Just a couple of things.
Either port out your intake base or get a aftermarket one. You'll need it!
The other thing is you could get the same low 13's if you stay with the plenum you have and port it and use large tube runners, and it is cheaper. The miniram is usaully better suited for +0.030 engines however it may be ok with a 350 but you'll loose some low end torque but top end rpms has been noted to 6500rpm!
Then there is the superram, you loose a little low end torque and gain some top end ... more suited to a 350 engine unlike the miniram.
The last thing is the 52mm TB having any gains since the NEW 502 BB TPI crate motor came out with a 48mm TB on it. Alot of discussions have popped up about it saying the 48mm TB flows enough air for our engines.

The intake manifold is important but the other things I talked about it is up to you.
Also read the magazine articles on this site especially the "Hard Rock Camaro Part I & II" it may help you. The ZZ9 cam is very simular to the SLP 224*/230* cam but more expensive, stay with the SLP.

Good Luck!

Yes, I agree, that SLP cam will make that Mini Ram set up one heck of a ride. You should also consider a new set of heads when you have the money.

This is a 305, right? In general the Miniram is not recommended for a 305. I'd steer you towards a large tube runner setup but if you really want a Miniram then you'll have a major league mismatch between intake and heads unless those stock heads are fully ported. A set of fully ported L98 AL heads are a better choice because they come with 1.94" intake valves versus 1.84" with the stock heads but still work with the 305 bore size. My advice is to run a killer set of heads and keep cam intake duration between 215 and 220 degrees @ .050 to retain good street manners with AC. The custom chip will compensate for the 24 lb injectors which are overkill on most 305s. Finally move up to a 2800-3000 RPM stall converter to compensate for the low end torque loss with the Miniram.
