tpi from my 92Z onto daddy's 55 chevy??

I'm thinking of building up a wild stroker smallblock for my 92Z and pulling the factory 305 and putting it on a stand. besides a chip and wiring harness, what will I need to use the stock tpi setup on his engine a 1965 327 hi-po shortblock (365 horse)

and will the tpi work well with it? is has that wild cam used in the late 60's 302's in z28's I"m pretty sure its a high revving cam, I'm guessing the tpi wont' get along with it, so it'd be smartest to pull a cam swap too, right?

Just throwing around some ideas with the old man, figured he won't argue as much with me butchering the camaro if he gets something out of it for his car.

Car: 1989 Camaro-1LE
Engine: TPI(s)
Transmission: 5 speed (MM5, MK6)
Axle/Gears: 3.45, 3.73
That old 365HP cam is a 4spd cam, and if I recall a solid lifter cam. The TPI will not like it too much due to the low vacum, although a custom prom will help.

To be honest, it's been 30 years since that cam was made and there are cams with less intake duration that make more power than that cam did.

You will be happier with a newer cam, and the TPI will like it as well. The TPI is torque, not HP. The old cam was designed for a 5500-6000 redline, the TPI runs out at 4500.

My 2 cents.
Mark.

necrophile,
a couple of things to think about.
if engine vacuum is under 14inches then the tpi isnt right for the engine.
fuel supply? aftermarket pressure pump capible of 50-60psi.
VATS bypass. either through chip or external.
305 injectors are too small for 350. the stock 19# 305 should be replaced with either 22 or 24#. if you want this to work keep the duration under 214 @ .050 and 3.55-3.70 gear.
a custom computer chip is a must.
