They Love to Strand You

Well guys I was coming home from the track last night and I hit a really hard bump, the car for maybe less than a minute after that before dying while going like 55. I pulled it over to the side of the road and would just turn over and not fire. I then noticed the fuel pump was not priming. I towed the car home and was suspicious about the ignition module. I tested it for spark and it has it. So now im confused on what could be wrong. Why would a fuel pump die on a bump? What else can I check before I look into a pump? Thanks guys.

check your wiring going to the fuel pump or check for a relay that may have came unplugged

Re: They Love to Strand You

Ok I checked all of the fuses and they are ok. I know it has spark. I took the fuel pump relay off of my RS and tried to run it with that and still not start. I put my finger on both relays to see if i could feel them click when I turn on the key and I dont hear or feel anything. Where should I look next? is it hard to bypass the relay?

Re: They Love to Strand You

There is a fuse stashed under the hood that is known to go bad. It feeds the ECM & fuel pump power. It is inline with a heavy wire that runs along the passenger side fender. A small plastic holder is used for the fuse, closer to the radiator end of the wire.

ahhh i cant find that fuse, this is on the firebird. The only wire I see is a ground wire that goes to the battery, and wiring to the fans.

I found the fuse next to battery and both wires going into it were pretty much cut. I reconnected and it runs cross your fingers for me.
