Size specs of suncoast's (or equiv) Ram air intake

Ok, i've got my Ram Air II Hood on, and everythings just peachy. But the current intake I have is a K&N cone filter off of the MAF which is directly off the TB... i want a square K&N setup like the new TA's have. anyone have the suncoast kit for 3rd gens? or know the specs of it? Im thinking i could get a few hp if it's a ram air, and not ghetto air induction.. thanks

I've been trying to figure out how to do this with my ASCD hood. What I have finally come up with is that the RA hood may look good, but if you want all around performance, cold air beats out. What I mean is that you're better off if you run your intake down to a cold air source(near ground, fenderwell, etc). This will help you from low to high end. Using RA, it will only help on high end.

I see what you're saying. but think about this: Cold air draws in the air itself, it's not 'forced' in... so why wouldnt the ram air setup allow the same amount- if not more, air to be drawn in.. it doesn't make sense that a cold air intake would be better than the ram air setup. if it was, wouldnt they have a WS6 Cold Air TA ? the ram air on the newer TA's claim a gain from 18-24hp (depending on the year/eng type/scoop size/etc...) but you get what I'm saying...

ok, i just saw the part about the air being colder... colder, denser air = more combustible = more hp.. all that.. but is there THAT much of a temp diff between air that is 3-4" off the ground than air that is 30" off the ground? I mean.. come on. it can't be that much of a substantial difference....

Yes, the RA draws air from the hood, where all of your engine heat is. You won't get a ram effect until your in excess of say 80+MPH. Not to good for light to light driving. I think cowl induction was always better than RA, but RA looks better (IMO). Use the CA induction for all around driving, and the RA snorkle to pull cooler air into the engine compartment to keep temps down.
